The paper offers an opinion to the following questions: How can a human resources information system (HAIR) support HER managers in the Ministry of Natural Resources the Environment and the agencies under it purview. Information communication technology (SITS) Information and Communication technology generally refers to permanent the networks, which link them, (Magnusson and Martini 2008). Literature has traditionally suggested different perspectives or aspects of Sits that must be considered in their study (Brady et al. , 2002). From an economic and management view- point, Sits have been regarded as: (1) a social construction; (2) an information provider; (3) an infrastructure hardware and software; and (4) a business process and system Today, Sits must be conceived broadly to encompass the information that businesses create and use, as well as the wide spectrum of increasingly convergent and linked technologies that process that information. HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT According to Armstrong (2009), Human resources management was recently defined s a strategic, integrated and coherent approach to the employment, development and well-being of the people working in organizations T covers activities such as strategic human resources management, human capital management, corporate social responsibility, organization development, human resource planning, recruitment and selection, performance management. Modern businesses have incorporated Information and communication technologies (ACT) in their operations, an incentive which is performed to see the business improve on such aspects including performance, efficiency, effectiveness and customer satisfaction. Nevertheless, CIT is not only incorporated in business organizations but also in public organizations as well as non-governmental organizations. The Ministry of Natural Resources Environment for instance comprises of several agencies, which need to be connected in order for efficiency to take place, lack of integrated information technology system will result in the HER department being burden with software solution, which enables HER activities to be processed electronically. The management of MERE need to understand that operations would be more effective once CIT has been incorporated in the organization to facilitate improved communication as well as ensure that apartments of the ministry can access data and information without delays. Through incorporating CIT in the ministry, the organization will not only have facilitated and enhanced innovation but will have also ensured that the quality of employee working life is also enhanced (Coors et al. , 2003). This is because the department controls the employees who are the powerhouse and initiates the right input to facilitate for quality products and services. Therefore, incorporating CIT in the organization ensures that all the departments that involve human resource are connected appropriately through communication and resources are readily accessible without any delays. Through incorporating CIT in MERE ministry for instance will ensure that the human resource management can carry out its administrative and managerial duties in the required manner, not forgetting that t is through CIT that effectiveness and efficiency will be achieved in the human resource department. CIT in MERE will ensure that the different departments in this organization are appropriately linked thus ensuring that the employees can access introduction of CIT to MERE will ease the problems in communication and feedback will be facilitated in advance thus aiding in an effective process of decision-making and problem solving.

Leadership Talents of Jack Welch Essay Jack Welch was a successful Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of General Electric Co. (GE) for twenty years (1981 – 2001). He was admired and feared for the â€Å"new vision† that was implemented at GE. Jacks talented strategies were based on how he saw the hierarchy layers of management, how he analyzed the 42 strategic business units, and how he implemented the culture of GE to have the feel and the passion that he had been striving for. These strategies received a lot of positive and negative attention and as a result the company’s value increased by 4,000% during his tenure at GE. Jack Welch was born John Francis Welch, Jr. on November 19, 1935. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Massachusetts in 1957. Then he went on to earn a M.S. and Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois in 1960. He was introduced to Carolyn Osburn through a mutual friend, and then approximately six months later they were engaged. By November, 1959 they married two days after Welch’s 24th birthday. In 1960, Dr. Dan Fox offered Welch a chemical engineering position to work on a new project on a new thermoplastic called polyphenylene oxide (PPO) at GE. PPO was described to withstand high temperatures, which could replace hot water copper piping and stainless-steel medical instruments. Welch realized after his first year at GE that he disliked GE’s bureaucracy, which nearly drove him to leave based on the standard predetermined $1,000 raise he received in 1961. He was fed up and walked up to his boss Burt Coplan and quit. Coplan’s boss, Reuben Gutoff (Reg) called Welch and offered to meet for dinner. Gutoff took Carolyn and Jack out for dinner and promised a bigger raise, more responsibility, and would keep the bureaucracy out of his way. In addition, Gutoff added another $2,000 raise on top of the $1,000 raise Coplan already given him, which showed Welch he was serious about his promise. In 1972, Jack was named the company’s youngest Vice President then was elected Vice Chairman in 1979, then was elected the eighth chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in 1981. Jack held this position until he retired in 2001. Jayna Eckerson Apocalypto Essay Indiana State University Apocalypto is a movie about a man name Jaguar Paw who is a part of a Mayan tribe. Jaguar Paw, his father and his other tribe mates were out hunting for food when they came across another tribe leader and his people were passing through their forest. The tribe leader told Jaguar Paw that their homes were invaded by men from a different tribe and warned him to look out for them. After the he told Jaguar Paw about the other tribe men, he was scared that they were coming to their tribe next.The next morning, Jaguar Paw was awoken by the dog which stopped barking and he became suspicious. Then he saw a tribe man running with a torch, so Jaguar Paw immediately woke his wife who is pregnant and his son so that can run for cover. After he put his family in a safe place, Jaguar Paw went to go help his tribe mates and father fight the invading men and women were also getting raped by these men. Jaguar Paw was held down to watch one of th e tribe leaders kill his father. All the women and men in Jaguar Paw’s tribe were taken as prisoners.They made to walk miles with the other tribe members that Jaguar Paw saw the day before to another camp site. As they were walking, they ran into a little girl who they believed that she had a disease. When they denied her help, she cured them and said that they will be killed by a man in a jungle. Finally, they made it to the camp the women were sold as slaves and the men were to be scarified. But eventually, Jaguar Paw would be released from being scarified and he goes back to his homeland to save his family. External adornment was worn throughout Apocalypto such as paint and make-up, intrinsic, sartorial, and local.All the tribe members wore a lot of black for their paint and make-up. According to my course packet, black is meant for protection. Intrinsic adornments are shown through their accessories. Each tribe member has some type of intrinsic adornment such as feathers, beads, shells, and teeth. These adornments are worn as necklaces, bracelets, and head ornaments. Also, feathers, beads, shells, and teeth are value too. Another type of adornment that is viewed in this movie is sartorial. I really got a chance to see sartorial adornments during the rituals.For example, the men that were killing other tribe men for sacrifice wore big masks with different colors and it was carved into funny looking faces. Also, they wore very big shields that look like necklaces, but it covers their shoulders and chest instead of being a necklace. In this movie, every tribe member showed some form of local adornment. The women wore a rough cotton material as a dress, but their breast and buttocks will still be seen. Also, the same for men but the only part of their body that is covered is their penis.Also, corporal adornment is shown in Apocalypto. Each tribe member in the movie had their on tattoos to describe their level of status. In Jaguar Paw’s tribe, the color of their tattoos is black and white. The other tribe men culture, women and men had green, red, black, and many more colors for their tattoos to represent their level of status too. Another important cororpal adornment is piercings. Most of tribe members have piercings in their chin, ears, and nose. For example, Jaguar Paw had a piercing on chin with a small circular object on it.Another example is Jaguar Paw’s dad, he have a piercing of a tooth or shell going through his nose. As earrings, they wear earrings that cuffed, spiral, or the round earrings that stretch their ears into a bigger size. The status roles among the tribes are different. Jaguar Paw’s tribe only has one leader which his father. The other tribe men have numerous of leaders that have their own personal adornment. Jaguar Paw’s father has feathers to represent is status in their tribe. He has big feathers that are placed on his shoulder.The leader of the other tribe has skulls, bones, and feathers to represent his role as a leader. He has a mask that is made out an alligator mouth with a creature head on top of the head piece and it has a few feathers on it too. Also, the other tribe men have leaders that are over them. Their leaders wear color tattoos, bigger and better intrinsic adornments, and have more beautiful external and corporal adornments. One of those leaders has beads that link off one another and it goes down his stomach. He also wore a head piece that has colorful, big feathers on it too.In Apocalypto, the higher you get in social status, you will get better adornments. The language that was spoken in this movie is called Yucatec Maya. This language is spoken among people of Yucatan Maya of Mexico. Throughout this whole movie, I only saw two rituals. The first ritual I saw was when Jaguar Paw and his tribe sat around a fire while elder told a story. After he told his story, the tribe members begin to dancing. After Jaguar Paw was captured, he was taken to a place where they scarified men for their God. My personal reaction to this movie was neutral.Overall, I think Apocalypto is a good movie but it is not the type of action movie I typically watch. I do not dislike anything about the movie, but it did kind of bore me at some point of time. I enjoyed how the tribe members loved their families especially toward the children. I am very impressed with the language that was spoken in the movie. Also, I got very sad when the mothers were taking away from their children. The children were left alone to raise themselves and each other. If I had to recommend this movie to a friend I would because it is good movie and it has a great meaning.

The Day Then It End

The year that women decided to stand up for their right’s was the year that the case Roe vs. Wade came about. The author of the article that I chose was a writer for a newspaper, and is reliable for this aspect. The author could have chosen to write this article because he or she felt strongly about the women’s rights that were at jeopardy at the time. The article takes place in a town in Texas where a woman was denied the choice of having an abortion. The article then continues to give you facts about the court case, the different opinions of the jury, and the final ruling.The article that I chose was over the case and covered many aspects about the rights of women and their right to choose. The biggest part of this article is the author’s choice to use pathos as an explanation as to why the case happened. This is evident throughout the entire article, as it is written over a very touchy subject. Some words that we see repeated throughout the article are â€Å" privacy† and â€Å"choice†. These relate to pathos because they make you see just what was at jeopardy for not only Roe, but women all across the United States.When the word privacy is continually used, it evokes the emotion that women were being violated in the means of privacy. This is also used to evoke an emotion that in no way is abortion a right to privacy, which is seen in the portion of the article titled â€Å"Dissenting Opinion†. The word choice is seen multiple times throughout the article and can evoke two different kinds of emotions as well. On one hand, the word choice is used to really hit home to you in the way that a person’s right to choose what they do with their body was at stake, and on the other hand, you feel the emotion that the fetus’ right to choose to live was at stake.These are both very sensitive subjects and can evoke emotion no matter the opinion on the issue. Evoking emotion through stating both emotional views and op inions has the largest effect on people throughout this article. The next appeal that this article has is that of ethos. The entire article from start to finish is filled with ethos appeals, since it is a newspaper article about a court ruling. Throughout the article, we can see the ethos appeals within the different court and medical terms.Some of these words and phrases that are repeated throughout the article are â€Å"the court has ruled (and small variations)† and â€Å"Amendment†. These words increase the trustworthiness of the author of the article by making her seem like she was involved with the law and understands it to a point. Even though we can tell that the author is just a writer for a newspaper, but we can tell by the use of these words that she is understanding of the court terms in general. These terms also come from actual quotes and speeches from within the Roe vs.Wade case, which is apparent in the sections of the article titled â€Å"Majority Opi nion† and â€Å"Dissenting Opinion†. The effect that these appeals have on people is that it gives them a better feeling of the author’s credentials, knowing that what they are reading was written by an author that knows what they are talking about. The final appeal that is apparent throughout the article is that of logos. Although not as frequently used, the appeal of logos is still there. One specific example of a logos appeal is when the article states,†Ã¢â‚¬ ¦ -judge federal court ruled that Texas abortion law unconstitutional, and the case was the appealed directly to the U. S. Supreme Court†. This is a logos appeal because it applied to the logical side of the article in the way that it made the law maker go back and be more specific about what they were talking about. Finally, we take a look at how the author wrote this article. While the author uses the logos, ethos, and pathos appeals, the author uses a certain word choice, tone, and syntax t hroughout the article to also get their point across.Throughout the article, we see the author using very sophisticated and professional word choice, such as â€Å"Amendments† and â€Å"Constitutional†. These words also influence her tone, making the piece sound very serious; this is how it should be. The article is over abortion which is a very serious topic for women everywhere. We also get a trustworthy feeling out of the article because of these factors. Included in word choice is the repetition of certain words and phrases. These phrases open your eyes to what happens to women almost every day, still, even after the Roe vs.Wade case was over. Also, the author used no figurative language at all, which made it seem even more professional than a speech or anything other than something based strictly on facts and stuck to an objective tone throughout. In conclusion, this article is very professional and appeals to many groups of people through the logos, pathos, and e thos appeals about abortion and the Roe vs. Wade case. Although it had a lot of emotional appeal, it also had a huge professional feel, making it seem like a trustworthy article.

Perhaps, as a whole, a cure for deafness would not make much difference. After all, most deaf people are not actually completely without hearing. In addition, deaf people are fully capable of holding most jobs, playing sports, and almost everything that those who can hear can do. This is especially true of those who were born with full hearing, but lost it during their lives. I have a friend who was born partially deaf. Other than his difficulty with speech, he appears to be the same as everyone else. He can even dance to a beat. He is in so many ways the same as anyone else that if he were to become able to hear, I doubt life would change much for him.
